Our teenage patients are thrilled to hear they can have Invisalign^® treatment. This treatment is so discreet that teens can smile all the way through treatment – and no one else needs to know.

What is Invisalign^® for teens?

Invisalign^® treatment uses discreet clear aligners to shape your smile (instead of metal brackets and wires). Teen aligners have special blue wear indicators to help your child remember to wear them for the recommended 22 hours a day.

Your teen’s aligners are custom-made for their exact smile. They are also removable, so teens don’t need to adjust their eating habits, oral hygiene routine, or after-school activities during treatment.

How Invisalign^® for teens works

When you join us for your teen’s orthodontic consultation, we will use our 3D digital scanner to make an accurate model of their smile. Their Specialist Orthodontist will then design your teen’s treatment plan and custom aligners based on this digital model.

We will give your teen a series of custom aligners, each shaped a little differently, to guide their smile into alignment over the course of treatment. To progress through treatment, your teen will switch to a new set of aligners every two weeks from the comfort of home.

Our top tips for Invisalign^® treatment

Remove your aligners for meals and coloured beverages to prevent damaging or staining them.
Put your aligners in their special case whenever you remove them.
Remember to wear your aligners for the recommended 20-22 hours a day.
Brush and floss your teeth after every meal and snack.
Clean your aligners gently when you brush your teeth.
Keep your aligners away from pets.
Contact us immediately if your aligners are lost or damaged.
